Overview

The HUAC-XB series of variable frequency series resonant test systems performs AC withstand tests on power cables, transformers, GIS, switchgear and generators. Every unit weighs 40 kg or less, so the system is easy to carry and set up on site.

Three operating modes let the operator choose the fastest approach for the site: fully automatic, manual, or automatic tuning with manual voltage raising. During the automatic frequency sweep, the start frequency and the sweep direction can be set, and the LCD shows the sweep curve so it is clear when resonance has been found. The DSP platform allows functions to be added or upgraded to suit the user.

Which ratings are available?

The XB series is configured to your test objects. Send us the capacitance or cable length, the test voltage and the test duration, and we will specify the reactors and power source.

How long can it run?

30 minutes at rated conditions, and 60 minutes when testing 35 kV cables.

What happens if the test object flashes over?

Flashover protection trips the output and the instrument records the flashover voltage for later analysis.
