Overview

The HUAC-BB fully automatic turns ratio tester replaces the slow, manual ratio bridge. It measures ratio, vector group and polarity on all three phases in one sequence, in about 10 seconds, and shows the results on a large colour screen.

It tests distribution transformers, power transformers up to 1000 kV, single-phase transformers, CTs, PTs and Z-connected transformers. The blind-test function finds the ratio and vector group when the winding connections are unknown. The instrument runs from its internal battery or from an AC charger.

Is this the right model?

Choose the HUAC-BB if you want a large colour screen with menu-driven operation. It has the same ratio range (0.9 to 10,000), 197 tap positions and battery operation as the HUAC-2071.

Consider the HUAC-2071 if size and weight matter most (3.5 kg against 3.8 kg, in a smaller case), or the HUAC-BBZ-1000 if you need a built-in printer or test Z-connected transformers.

How is it different from a ratio bridge?

A ratio bridge is balanced by hand, one phase at a time, and the result has to be calculated. This tester measures all three phases automatically and displays ratio, error, vector group and polarity directly.

Does it test CTs and PTs?

Yes, as well as single-phase and Z-connected transformers.

How is the data saved?

Up to 500 results are stored in the instrument and can be copied to a USB flash drive as Word files for editing and printing.
