Variable frequency CT/PT analyzer: excitation, error curves, ratio, polarity, burden and transient parameters, 50 A source, printer, 10,000 results.
The HUAC-CT-120P tests protection and metering current transformers (CTs), potential transformers (PTs) and GIS bushing CTs automatically. Power plants, substations and test laboratories use it for commissioning and routine checks of instrument transformers.
The analyzer uses variable frequency technology: its output of up to 180 V corresponds to an equivalent test voltage of 36 kV, enough to find the knee point of most protection CTs. With one button it runs the CT tests, detects nameplate parameters automatically, draws the excitation curve and the 5 % and 10 % error curves, and calculates the knee point and accuracy limit factor (ALF). For CTs it also reports the remanence coefficient, excitation inductance, secondary time constant, transient area factor and peak instantaneous error; for PTs it measures excitation, ratio, polarity, secondary resistance and burden.
A built-in 50 A current source allows ratio and polarity tests by the current method, with three channels measured synchronously, and the instrument can also run AC withstand tests on secondary windings. Results are shown on a TFT colour touch screen, printed on the built-in thermal printer and stored, up to 10,000 sets kept after power-off, for transfer to a PC by USB drive. The analyzer weighs no more than 10 kg and is built for good shock resistance and a long service life.

The analyzer tests the CT excitation at a lower frequency, where the core saturates at a lower voltage, and converts the result to rated frequency. Its 180 V output therefore corresponds to an equivalent test voltage of 36 kV.
Yes. The built-in 50 A current source injects current for current-method ratio and polarity tests, with three channels measured at the same time.
Protection and metering CTs, potential transformers (PTs) and GIS bushing CTs.
Up to 10,000 result sets are kept after power-off. Results can be printed on site on the built-in thermal printer or copied to a PC with a USB drive for reports.
