75 kVA resonant test system for AC withstand and partial discharge tests on cables, transformers, GIS and generators, with 25 kV / 3 A or 75 kV / 1 A output.
The HUAC-22/22-75kVA/75kV is a variable frequency series resonant test system for AC withstand voltage and partial discharge tests on power cables, transformers, GIS and generators in power plants, substations and electrical laboratories.
The variable frequency power source drives an excitation transformer and a reactor stack in series with the test object, and the control unit sweeps between 30 and 300 Hz to find resonance. At resonance the source only supplies the circuit losses; with a quality factor of Q ≥ 30, a 75 kVA test is run from a single-phase 220 V or three-phase 380 V supply.
The reactor sections are connected in series for 75 kV at 1 A, or in parallel for 25 kV at 3 A, so the same system covers both high-voltage, low-capacitance objects and lower-voltage, high-capacitance objects such as long cables. The output is a sine wave with distortion of 1 % or less, which also makes the system suitable as the voltage source for partial discharge measurements.
For smaller test objects, see the 10 kV and 35 kV series resonant test systems. For 110 kV and 220 kV equipment, see the 110 kV / 220 kV system.

Both use the same 75 kVA rating. Connect the reactor sections in series for 75 kV at 1 A when the test object needs a high voltage and has low capacitance, or in parallel for 25 kV at 3 A when it needs more current, for example a long cable.
Yes. The output is a sine wave with distortion of 1 % or less, so the system can serve as the AC voltage source for partial discharge measurements, used together with a PD measuring system and coupling capacitor.
Single-phase 220 V or three-phase 380 V at 50 Hz. Because the resonant circuit has a quality factor of Q ≥ 30, the supply only has to cover the circuit losses, not the full 75 kVA.
It is rated for 5 minutes continuous operation at rated load, and for 1.1 times rated voltage for 1 minute, with a temperature rise of 65 K or less.
Yes. International cable standards such as IEC 60502-2 and IEC 60840 allow after-installation AC voltage tests at frequencies from 20 to 300 Hz.
