Overview
The HUAC-8000 measures the dielectric strength (breakdown voltage, BDV) of transformer and other insulating oils. A microcontroller runs the whole test automatically: raising the voltage, holding, stirring, standing, calculating and printing, with repeated breakdown tests up to 80 kV.
The operator only sets the test parameters; the instrument then tests one cup of oil to the set sequence, stores each breakdown voltage and prints every value and the average on its thermal printer. The voltage is raised at a constant, controlled rate at an accurate 50 Hz, and the compact instrument is easy to carry.

Frequently asked questions
What does a BDV test show?
The breakdown voltage of insulating oil drops when the oil contains water, particles or other contamination, so it is a quick check of oil condition.
Can I change the test sequence?
Yes. Rise rate, standing time, interval between breakdowns and the number of breakdowns are all adjustable.
How are results recorded?
Each breakdown value and the average are printed on the built-in thermal printer and stored in memory; an RS232 link to a PC is optional.
