Overview
The HUAC-301 measures the contact pressure of the tulip (plum-blossom) contacts in high-voltage switchgear without damaging them. Weak contact springs raise contact resistance and cause overheating, so power plants, substations and switchgear manufacturers use the tester to find them before they lead to a fault.
A high-precision aviation-grade strain gauge sensor gives accurate, stable readings with low temperature drift, within ±1 % of full scale up to 1000 N. It suits contacts from 33 to 107 mm in diameter, for 630 A to 4000 A ratings, and larger sizes can be made to order. Results appear on a 5-inch colour touch screen in N or kg, are printed with time and site information on the built-in thermal printer, and are stored on a TF card for transfer by USB or USB flash drive. Voice prompts guide the operator, and self-calibration, zeroing and sensor reset keep the measurement reliable over time.
The host weighs under 3 kg and runs for at least 8 hours on its rechargeable lithium battery. It comes in a carrying case with separate compartments for the host and accessories, ready for site work and factory quality control.

Frequently asked questions
Why measure contact pressure?
Weak or tired contact springs lower the pressure on the tulip contacts, which raises contact resistance and can overheat the switchgear. Measuring the pressure finds these contacts before they fail.

How long does the battery last?
