Overview

The HUAC-YD-20A is an intelligent DC power supply for high-voltage switch testing. Traditional rectifier supplies lose voltage under load; this unit uses voltage compensation to keep its output stable when the breaker coil draws current, so low-voltage operation tests give accurate results.

It is used by utilities for low-voltage operation tests, close and trip tests, supplying spring-charging motors and testing spring-operated mechanisms on all kinds of switches. Dedicated Close and Trip buttons give a fixed 100 ms pulse, and pressing the control knob switches the motor (energy-storage) output on and off.

Why not use the substation DC supply?

Low-voltage operation tests need the coil voltage set to a precise, reduced value. This supply sets the voltage from 6 to 270 V and holds it under load.

Can it run a spring-charging motor?

Yes, from the separate energy-storage output, switched on and off by pressing the knob. Continuous output is limited to 20 s at up to 10 A; a long-duration version is available on request.

How are the close and trip coils connected?

Red lead to Close (+), black lead to negative, green lead to Trip (+).
